agony
There is deep agony in the world. Real, nightmarish agony. And it’s everywhere. And it’s big and real. There’s nothing I can do about it.
“Is that so?”
I pray. I beg of you. I pray mercies and plead the blood of Jesus, and yet there is real pain and suffering and death.
“You don’t have to beg me. I want to heal. I want to save.”
Then why don’t you?! Why don’t you make all this suffering stop? All this evil! That’s what it is - it’s evil. Children needlessly dying. Your chosen people crying out to you, and people all over the world praying for the bloodshed to stop and it doesn’t.
“My people are protected eternally. This world is filled with things I never intended, and I hate them just as much as you do.”
You could stop it all right now.
You cannot uproot evil without uprooting your children along with it. You’ll allow it to grow alongside until the time you’re able to separate the wheat from the tares. You planted good seed, but the enemy planted his as well. How do we find encouragement here? Is there hope for encouragement even in this place?
“There is light even in the darkest of nights. Can you find it? Can you make it? How much are you willing to suffer to provide it?”
